Dr Nicholas Chua

Dr Nicholas Chua is the Clinical Consultant of Advanced NeuroStimulation and the Medical Director of Specialist Pain International Clinic in Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) where he also obtained his Masters of Medicine (Anaesthesiology). He has been conferred a Ph.D by the Radboud University Medical Centre of Nijmegen, The Netherlands. His completed doctorate thesis (PhD) is titled “QST observations in Chronic Neck Pain: Towards a mechanism-orientated approach to Cervicogenic Headache”.

Dr Chua completed his Fellowship of Interventional Pain Physician (FIPP) accreditation in 2007 by the World Institute of Pain (WIP) in Memphis-Tennessee, USA. He is a certified Diplomate with the American Academy of Pain Management (Dipl.AAPM). Dr Chua is the current President of the Pain Association of Singapore. He sits on the Board of Examinations, FIPP-World Institute of Pain (WIP) since 2015. He was part of the organising scientific committee of the 7th and 8th World Congress of Pain held in Maastricht, The Netherlands (2014) and New York, USA (2016) respectively.

Dr Nicholas Chua is an active reviewer for various journals and serves as an Associate Editor in the journal Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine and sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Spine & Neurosurgery and World Journal of Anesthesiology.
